Second Haven launched in late September 2025 with a little gazebo on a hilltop in a cherry blossom biome. In just three months, we’ve created beautiful places to explore and a warm community. Our growth has been slow but steady. Our goal of creating space for genuine connection, mutual mentorship, and support has already begun to take shape.

Our Next Build Event
On Saturday, January 10, login for freebies and the ability to fly in survival mode. Get a build party gift bag and access to loads of block kits, making big builds and community projects easier and accessible to new players. We keep it low-key, so whether you want to interact or just play with others in the world, we’re here for it!

Our First Quest is Ready!
Second Haven’s first Quest is ready to play! Visit the Quest Host near the spawn point to get started. This is not a fetch and grind quest but a short story-driven adventure. We hope this will be the first of many. Our quest design team includes a certified peer support specialist, Devin, who has offered workshops on the Hero’s Journey framework (which inspired the name of our connected world).
New Lodge Planned for Hero’s Journey Spawn
Speaking of Hero’s Journey, Thelich has offered to rebuild the lodge sitting at the spawn point of our sister world, a realm of danger and darkness for the brave soul ready to do battle. Would you like to help? Let us know. You can reach Hero’s Journey by passing through the portal just beyond the Info Hall.
The Bookshop is Open
The Second Haven Bookshop is mostly built but will have more books with each passing week. Books will be accessible by clicking bookshelves or interacting with characters in the shop. Visit the shop (next to the Info Hall) and go down one floor to find the Clerk. If you stop her (click on her), she’ll offer you a book with a short poem by Devin, a Second Haven resident and quest designer. You’ll also find a book by our very first member, MeekoMapache, and others.
If you’d like to add a book, contact me via Discord or support@buildhumancommunity.org, and I can add it via plugin, making it available to all players.
More News
- I’m building an underground Training Gym for new players who are still getting comfortable with Minecraft. This space will provide a guided set of tutorials and practice areas for players to learn the ropes without worrying about breaking the world. Want to try it out? Stay tuned for more info!
- The Winter Fest area remains open for all players. Visit any time and build anything your heart desires. We could use a few paths, maybe some warm winter village houses. If you want to create something in the Snow Globe, let me know. I’ll add you as a region member, which will give you building permission.
- Jessica (King the Queen) got the interviews she needed for her paper on women with disabilities and thyroid conditions. She got a perfect score! Yay, Jessica!
Places to Check Out
Ice Boat Race Track by BindiBhaji
This track is soooo much fun! If you hit one of the pressure plates before a break in the tracks, you will go flying! This is my favorite place to practice my boating skills.
How to get there: Warp Hub to Winter Fest or type /warp winter-fest and mosey over to the track. Boats are in the chest near the starting line.
Giant Christmas Tree by WiseOldQuokka
Near the Ice Track on the snowy hillside is a glorious build, a massive, majestic Christmas tree with gifts at its feet bigger than my first house. It’s mostly finished and open for collaboration. Would you like to add to the tree or build something nearby?
Village by FairlyFluffy and WiseOldQuokka
One of our first player villages, this is worth a visit! It’s just… just beautiful. I think my building skills have improved since seeing the homes and landscaping by FairlyFluffy.
How to get there: Travel the Great South Road from spawn and take the left fork after you pass Verdahla.
The Market by deTracey
Whatever you need, you can probably find it at The Market. But this enchanting island is worth a stroll even if you aren’t shopping. The floating lanterns and massive mushroom are Second Haven landmarks.
How to get there: From the spawn point, travel west until you reach the ice cream cone bridge, a cherry wood path and gazebo by Resmyx. You can also reach The Market from the Warp Hub.
